About Us

Hapie-Ugo Divine International Model School was established in 2012 in Abuja, Nigeria. It's a non-profit K-5 school dedicated towards aiding and strengthening early childhood education for Nigerian children.
Education at Hapie-Ugo Divine International Model School involves a unique combination of American and Nigerian educational practices, in addition to our school's core ideals.
Built around the motto Education that Truly Works! Hapie-Ugo Divine International Model School educates its students to be more than students. We educate them to be 'problem-solvers' and 'job-creators' rather than 'job-seekers'.
In order to do this, we structure our educational system around these 7 Core Ideals:Teamwork and Understanding, Professionalism, Adventure, Leadership, Productivity, Environmentalism and Service.

MISSION
-
To equip Nigerian youth and children to be able to help themselves and their community
-
To help Nigerian children obtain quality education capable of producing results in the real world.
VISION
A transformed Nigerian education system, and thus a better Nigeria, for everyone.
"Education That Truly Works"
We coined this phrase to represent the ultimate goal of Hapie-Ugo School - to empower our students with the mental tools they need to empower themselves.
Just about every school in Nigeria teaches, or attempts to teach, their students the 'basic' 'foundational' knowledge they need--such as Math, English, Reading and Science--but not much else. Thus, these students learn to memorize and execute tasks, but not to create, not to think. With unemployment on the rise among graduates, clearly, this educational tactic is not working.
"So, our students are trained to think differently." Early on, we train them to think in terms of "What can I do to make an impact where I am?" "What can I do?" They are trained to evaluate themselves and their situations and find opportunities and solutions everywhere and anywhere. They are taught to lead, to suggest, to question, to analyze, and, most importantly, to solve.
"Education that truly works", it's a change of mindset." If every child is taught to think this way, and are given the thinking tools and skills to do so through basic education, they will be able to create little positive changes wherever they are, and, over time, these changes will compound and create a self-efficient society capable of solving its own problems as they come up.
"We're a different type of school, the likes of which Nigeria has never seen. "Education that truly works" is the most effective and permanent solution to poverty in Nigeria."
We are a different kind of school that seeks to develop the next generation of Nigerian leaders, not just graduates.
We teach and equip our students to solve problems and create their own opportunities not just to sit around and wait for them.
How We Do It
Our school's curriculum is fashioned to follow the American Common Core Educational Standards, and Nigerian curricula, in addition to some of our unique ideals as well.
